As my games development course begins to ramp up to final projects and assessments, to gain better understanding and develop my skills I have been doing side projects that involve learning skills that will help me within my course as well as give me better insight into what goes in behind creating game assets both 2D and 3D, from Concept to final Animation, with this week focusing on the rigging of a game character model to later animate.
The Evolution of Rocker dude
My Approach to understanding how the development pipeline was by selecting a "client" in this case my younger brother and approached him with the question "If you wanted to create a game what would it be" and he came back with the Idea of this "Rocker Dude" like character and gave me a rough idea of how he wanted his character to look.
As a way to get more experience in working with 3-D model creation as well understanding how to bring peoples idea's to life I went ahead and started to create my brother's Game Character, starting with his initial idea on what he wanted, creating concept art that I could gain feedback from and when that was to his liking moved ahead and started to model and texture his game character.
This, as well as bettering my skills will give me the chance to get him more involved in creating game's, where after i've gone through character creation process be able to move the model into unity where we can bring his game to life.

RiggerMortis
This week my focus with this side project is understanding the Rigging process, where after finishing the character's model and texture (to an extent) Exported him into maya where I followed guidelines set out in professional studios to give Rocker Dude a solid rig to work with before animating him. This gave me a whole new software platform to work with where I learnt the fundamentals behind the rigging process.
